Cooperative Writing and Constellative Narration. The Joint Text Production of Oskar Negt and Alexander Kluge
Since 1968, the philosopher and sociologist Oskar Negt and the filmmaker, author and television producer Alexander Kluge have jointly written theoretical books about work and labor, society, the public, media, politics, upbringing, education and power. It is remarkable that certain developments in their concept of what it means to think also manifest in a modified kind of text production and form of representation. Christian Wimplinger examines historical premises, theoretical implications, forms of work organization and forms of representation, which may be traced by the example of the cooperation between Negt/Kluge. The central hypothesis of this project is that cooperation always resorts to conceptual oral language, which is then implemented – that is: translated into writing.
From 2006-2013, Christian Wimplinger studied German Philology and Philosophy at the University of Vienna. In his M.A. thesis, he investigated the philosophical concept of Deleuze/Guattari’s Desiring-Production, in order to look at Christoph Schlingensief’s works from a perspective of Cultural Theory. From 2013-2016, he worked as a lecturer and research assistant at the Department of German Studies at the University of Wrocław. In 2016, Christian Wimplinger has become a member of the interdisciplinary research platform “Mobile Cultures and Societies”, where he examines versatile forms of representation. Currently, he is teaching and working towards his doctorate at the Department of German Studies in Vienna.

Im Rahmen der Ringvorlesung an der Universität Wien „Wie Schriftsteller zu Werke gehen“ wird IFK_Junior Fellow Christian Wimplinger am 7. Dezember 2017 von 11h30-13h den Vortrag "Kritische Zeiten. Wie, wann und wozu Literatur gemeinsam entsteht" halten. Ort: Universität Wien, HS 31, Universitätsring 1, 1010 Wien
Vom 16.11.2017 bis 18.11.2017 findet die INTERNATIONALE HERBSTUNIVERSITÄT an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin unter dem Motto "Transformationen und Transfers: Literarische Raumordnungen und ihre Dynamisierung" statt.
IFK_Junior Fellow Christian Wimplinger wird ebendort seinen Vortrag „Phonographische Interventionen im Lehr- und Analytikerzimmer um 1968“ halten.
Im Rahmen der Tagung "KOLLEKTIVE(S) Schreiben",15.-16. März 2018, an der Universität Konstanz, halten Prof. Dr. Annegret PELZ (Universität Wien) und Christian WIMPLINGER (Universität Wien / IFK) am 16.3.18, 10 h den Vortrag "Zwei Autoren – ein Tisch. Momentaufnahmen kooperativen Schreibens bei Negt und Kluge".
Philosophische Gemeinschaftswerke werden besonders häufig in der Tradition der Frankfurter Schule geschrieben. Oskar Negt und Alexander Kluge verfassen seit 1968 gemeinsam Bücher wie „Öffentlichkeit und Erfahrung“ (1972), „Geschichte und Eigensinn“ (1982) und „Maßverhältnisse des Politischen“ und produzieren zahlreiche Fernsehmagazine im Format philosophischer Gespräche. Dabei brauchen sie jedoch immer „Dritte im Raum, die die Sätze einsammeln“.
